The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and hippos. The Ishasha sector of the park is particularly famous for its tree-climbing lions, a rare and unique behavior observed in only a few places in the world.

The Kyambura Gorge, located in the eastern part of the park, offers a different experience with its lush vegetation and habituated chimpanzees. Visitors can embark on guided chimpanzee tracking adventures to witness these fascinating primates in their natural habitat.

The park’s diverse landscapes range from open savannah and acacia woodlands to wetlands and crater lakes. The scenic beauty is further enhanced by the backdrop of the Rwenzori Mountains, often referred to as the “Mountains of the Moon.”
